040 My American Flag
39 x 20 in
Paper & Glue on a Wooden Headboard
~ 10lbs
The pilot with the gaze was begging to be paired with a random object. The colorfully bitten apple started as a separate idea, but felt like the perfect compliment. Nature skies and sailboats were originally just going to be more assorted paper, but I thought it would have gotten too loud. On a part of a bed found in a dumpter near Embajadores, Madrid.
This piece remains in Madrid, contact Ian for more information.
The pilot went down first, then the layout of the right side of the flag took some thought to conjure.
My flag holds jealousy and temptation, a fantasitcal mixture of natural scenes, a the creativity and drive to burst from the frame.
